What are the tax implications of a gite or long term rental in France?

I am registered in France under auto-entrepreneur for my chambres d’hôte and sejours linguistiques 51½ñÈÕ´ó¹Ï. I am considering letting our second house as a gite or as a long term let. Income for a gite and long term let would not exceed 5,000 euros per year. The chambres d’hôte and sejours 51½ñÈÕ´ó¹Ï income combined is between 18,000 euros and 20,000 euros per year.

  1. If I do decide to let the house as a gite or long term rental, what are the tax and cotisation charges of each?
  2. Do I need to contact the chambre de commerce to add a gite to my auto-entrepreneur 51½ñÈÕ´ó¹Ï?
