Confusion with ERP
Hello again;
I went to my mairie last night to speak to them regarding the ERP status. They told me it was nothing to do with them, and advised me to contact my sous-prefecture. I did so last night and got an email reply this morning;
“Avant de commencer des travaux de construction ou d’am茅nagement d’un ERP, le propri茅taire (ou son mandataire) doit demander une autorisation au maire.
Le dossier de demande (Cerfa n掳 13824*04 ci-joint), envoy茅 en 4 exemplaires 脿 la mairie, doit comprendre de nombreuses pi猫ces et notamment :
plan et sch茅ma
r茅action au feu des mat茅riaux
notice de s茅curit茅
notice sur la prise en compte de l’accessibilit茅 aux personnes handicap茅es (emplacements sp茅cifiques, par exemple)
Le d茅lai d’instruction de la demande est de 4 mois 脿 partir du d茅p么t du dossier.
Le dossier est tout d’abord examin茅 par la commission de s茅curit茅 et d’accessibilit茅 qui rend un avis au maire dans un d茅lai de 2 mois maximum (pass茅 ce d茅lai, l’avis est consid茅r茅 comme favorable).
Ensuite, le maire peut d茅livrer l’autorisation de travaux. L’absence de d茅cision vaut acceptation des travaux.”
Now, I’m a little confused. I will be running my research workshops and walking tours out of my converted barn. It’s 3 rooms; a small hallway, the main room and a bathroom. Building was built in 1923 and renovation work was done early 2000s. I am in the process of buying a removable ramp to be wheelchair friendly and a doorbell for the front door. I also believe my bathroom is big enough (I’ve had a few friends visit in the past who are in wheelchairs and have said bathroom access for them was no problem). My mairie don’t seem to want to help me, which is annoying unto itself. Do I need to fill in all this complicated paperwork or do I simply need an inspection?
